Stranger Danger Day at TCMA

Hollie mentored at her Martial Arts Academy today. She helped new students, or potential students, learn Stranger Safety.

They begin the group with focus - look at who? You Ma'am!! Then, respect. Keep your body still and listen. And then, of course, the defense. Stop!! You're not my Mom! Call 911!! Then you kick the royal crap out of your attacker.

Well, there was a girl there - about 11 or 12 years old - who clearly did not want to be there. She was not focusing and definately not respectful. Hollie happened to be partnered up with her. A lot of fun that was. By the end, this girl had had enough - she picked up her Ipod, plugged in her ears, and there she stood. "Mom this is boring!", "Can we go now?" An instructor came up to her and started talking to her about her experience with the class. She looked up at him, curled up her lip, and went "huh?". Never once removing the ear buds from her ears. What a piece of work! The instructor looked at her mother and said, "Sounds like she could use some Martial Arts.", and walked away.
